When planning for your future, you have to be realistic about your needs. So to figure out what you are going to actually need and can live with, you need to create a fictional food diary.
Sure you can buy a bunch of nasty tasting MRE’s but let’s be real … do you really want to live off of those for the next few years? Of course not!
So what would you like to eat instead? That’s what this fictional food diary is about.
Write down what you would like to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and one to three snacks per day, every day for the next 30 days. Keep in mind that if the SHTF you’ll be doing a lot of manual labor so you’ll want to include foods high in carbs — so don’t be afraid to include lots of potatoes, pasta, bananas, oranges, beans, and nuts.
When you have completed that task you’ll be able to figure out how you are going to make that a reality.
By planning out your meals, you’ll get a good grasp on what kind of food you’ll actually need and exactly how much of it.
The only way you can really plan out what food you are going to need to grow or raise is to know in advance what you are going to be eating each and every day.
